I totally enjoy going to amusement parks.  Roller coasters and tea cup spinny rides are among my favourite.  The cool thing about the tea cup ride is that the rider has some level of control over how extreme the spinning is.  Unlike a roller coaster in which you are locked in and taken on a pre-set course, the tea cup ride gives the rider the chance to add spin, or settle the ride down by bracing and holding the center wheel still.
How like our walk with in the world and with Christ.   Life gives us a good deal of ups and downs, twists and turns. We basically have two choices in the midst of those ups and downs.   We can try to control our circumstances, grab the wheel and steer,  This often adds confusion upset and gives a dimension of being unsettled - as it turns out we are often not very good drivers.
The other option is to stablize ourselves in Christ, hang on to Him and allow Him to take control of the wheel.  He may not stop the ride and let you get off, but He can certainly take care of the portion which overwhelms.  He is a good driver and although He takes unconventional routes He always steers us rightly.
