Being Refined

When Silver is refined, it is purified until it is reflective. God's word say that God refines us like silver. In other words God applies heat and undertakes a purging process with us until He sees Himself reflected in us. This refining occurs in all kinds of ways and one of them is through helping us own the story of Christ, the Gospel, internalizing it until we are changed by it.
Through the Gospel we are shown again and again how far from the image of God we are (how dull & non-reflective we are). Through the Gospel we begin to understand our desperate for God's help. He is the refiner after all so we need Him to pour His grace into us so that dross is removed. It is the only way we will shine and reflect Him. Our ability to be good before God is His work in us through grace. This is a trying, struggling, stressful, life changing realization to come to.
Out of these realizations (Thanks Tim Keller) comes the question of the week
"What does it look like to let the Gospel argue with me"?
